Network Rebrand

 
 

In 2018, Freeform has gained a lot of praise and support for several of their “forward-looking” series like Grown-ish, Cloak and Dagger, and The Bold Type. As the network was developing new programming, our studio was collaborating on a new identity system that would reflect the new focus of the network.

 
 
 

Broadcast Toolkit

 
 

Freeform landed on bright, primary colors and on Futura as the supporting typeface to refresh the brand. The Futura family avoids non-essential elements and evokes simplicity to present a modern look. We referenced traditional design practices to inspire the rebrand while creating a more youthful look to match the network's fresh perspective.

We then grew the design concepts beyond static solutions and into a system of energetic animations, transitions, and lower thirds that would give the internal team the right set of tools to help Freeform resonate with their audience.
