The Ask
Our goal was to create a network cross promotion, simultaneously leveraging contrasting and potentially unrelated content. The premiere of an epic new series based on a French novel and popular film, Snowpiercer.
The Challenge
No matter what was on your screen, we needed to come up with a technique that would make a train crash directly through your screen, sending you not away from but instead towards said screen to watch the Snowpiercer series on TNT. How, oh, how would we solve this riddle?
The Result
We decided to create a full transition that mimics the crystallization of freezing ice — this treatment alluded to the science fiction tale where survivors of Earth's second Ice Age live out their days on a train which furrows through snow and dystopian, ice-laden landscapes. Through Houdini’s 3D modeling and animation, we were able to string a multitude of variables into one cohesively chilling execution.
